We’ve compiled this quick guide to help you to get the perfect gift for a car enthusiast this Christmas. There’s a lot of models out there to choose from which can be overwhelming, so we’ve made it easy.
For F1 enthusiasts
Bburago produces an amazing range of F1 models at a very affordable price point, making them great small gifts or stocking fillers. Keep in mind that they are not always available due to the limited edition nature, so ensure to shop ahead of time.
For the serious collectors, Minichamps are renowned for detail – in both the 1/18 and 1/43 scale. They come in a display case which makes them highly giftable.
Like Bburago, Minichamps are extremely limited in availability, and sell out usually upon arrival so it is important to pre-order well in advance. Whilst this can make it hard to time the gift, you can always call your retailer to find out what’s available right now, or due soon.
For road car enthusiasts
Bburago do a fantastic range of road car models in 1/24 scale. They offer value for money and are a great starting range for beginners to the world of model cars.
Whether they’re a BMW, Ford or Porsche fan, there are plenty of models out there to choose from to ensure you can find the perfect gift.
A more premium option for road cars is Autoart, who produce incredibly well detailed models – albiet with a much bigger price tag than Burago or Solido.
For rally enthusiasts
Solido is a French manufacturer of models and they do offer a great range of rally cars.
It depends on the race that someone is looking to buy for – but there are lots to choose from.
Another brand that produces models for the more serious collector is Kyosho – but these models are very limited in availability so if you do want to get one of these highly detailed models, we recommend you contact your ratailer to see what the stock situation is!
